Blacktail Deer
   a mule deer, esp. the subspecies (Odocoileus hemionus columbianus) found from N Calaifornia to Alaska
   This is a subspecies of the common white tail deer, and they are only found in the western portion of the North American continent. This deer is only distinguishable from its white tail cousins by its naturally darker body, its black tail and the fact that it has a smaller frame.
